On-Farm Workshops

This is where some of the most exciting things happen. Here we take you on one of the many educational gardening adventures that we offer. All our on-farm events include delicious snacks and Just Us Organic Coffee and various teas, most of the events include a delicious buffet of organic foods mostly from the farm as well.

Small groups, hands on, immersed in the topic and seeing it in actual operation. These workshops will give you the knowledge and the tools for you to build on.

Farm Tours

Our school, Via Vita Academy, was eagerly welcomed by Cochrane Family Farm for a tour and to learn about everything they do on the farm. We were excited for the opportunity to get a hands-on, real life approach to exploring farming options in Nova Scotia, especially to introduce concepts of CSA, organic farming, and seed saving to our students. Cochrane Family Farm blew us away with their knowledge, friendliness and initiatives they were taking for sustainability. Our students were encouraged to ask questions, think critically, get their hands dirty, and take an active role in learning from the visit. It was fantastic! We were overjoyed with the whole experience and will most definitely be back. Our students gained valuable information and have a better appreciation for our food and our Earth. Thank you!!
