Cochrane Family Farm has been family-owned and operated for well over a decade. We are a certified organic farm that follows permaculture practices to continually improve the soil. With 30 acres of river valley farmland in Upper Stewiacke, Nova Scotia, we are able to offer a wide range of products and services and also tend to a unique, bio-diverse, beautiful farm.
There are no chemicals here. Being an organic farm, we don’t use any chemical sprays or other chemical inputs in our farming practices, no pesticides, herbicides, chemical cleaning agents, or growth accelerators.
All of our seeds are heirloom varieties. Every fall, we germinate all the varieties that we grow and work to ensure that they have high viability and also to help maintain and protect some species that are endangered. We do not grow any hybrids. These practices ensure our seeds are well adapted and vigorous.
