Description

Tomatillo, Toma Verde #8021

Starting green, these unique yellow-maturing tomatillo have an interesting purple blush on some fruits. Most will burst through their papery tan husks when ripe. Used in salsa, green sauce, chilli sauce, or fresh roasted. Tomatillos keep extremely well (for several weeks) in the fridge and freeze easily. An established patch often re-seeds in the garden.

Certified organic  30 seeds/pkt

Seeds need to be started indoors 6-7 weeks before last frost. Sow 1/4″ deep in a light soil mix; harden off & plant out 24 – 48″ apart, in not too rich a soil, after all danger of frost is over. Tomatoes benefit from staking.

Cochrane Family Farm is a Certified organic family farm that follows permaculture practices to continually improve the soil. We do not use any chemical sprays or other chemical inputs and only grow hand tended heirloom varieties of vegetables, herbs, and flowers. We do not grow any hybrids. Because of these practices our seeds are well adapted and vigorous.
